talkSPORT 2 launched on 15 March 2016 as a sister station to talkSPORT, expanding the network's capacity for live sport and specialist programming. The station gives additional matches, tournaments and sporting events room to breathe when the main talkSPORT schedule is already committed elsewhere.
The output moves between live commentary, breaking sports news, phone-ins, interviews, documentaries and focused programmes covering individual sports. Football remains an important part of the schedule, but talkSPORT 2 also gives substantial airtime to cricket, rugby, horse racing, boxing, golf, tennis, darts, motorsport and major international events.
talkSPORT 2 broadcasts from the talkSPORT studios at The News Building in London and is part of the News Broadcasting network owned by News UK. It is a digital service rather than an FM or AM station, with national DAB+ coverage through the Sound Digital multiplex and live online listening through Radio Player UK.
