Premier Christian Radio has been broadcasting since 1995 and is the main speech-led radio service in the Premier family. Its output combines Christian teaching, interviews, news, discussion, current affairs and music, giving listeners a broad mix of faith-based programming rather than concentrating on one musical format.
Speech is a major part of the station's identity. Premier describes Christian Radio as predominantly speech based, with teaching and magazine programmes, news and discussion alongside a wide range of Christian music. Programmes explore faith, theology, culture, politics and everyday life from Christian perspectives.
Premier Christian Radio broadcasts nationally on DAB digital radio across much of the UK and Northern Ireland. It is also available on several medium-wave frequencies in Greater London and Surrey and on Freeview channel 725, alongside its live online stream.
The station is part of Premier, whose wider radio family also includes Premier Praise and Premier Gospel. Premier Christian Radio is the talk and teaching-led service of the group, while the other stations place greater emphasis on worship and gospel music.
