Premier Gospel is a British gospel music station launched in February 2010 by Premier Christian Media Trust. It was created to give gospel music and Black Christian culture a dedicated radio platform, with space for established artists, new British talent, worship leaders, DJs and voices from gospel communities in the UK and overseas.
The music moves well beyond a single definition of gospel. Listeners hear contemporary gospel, traditional praise and worship, gospel R&B, rap, reggae, jazz, house, soul, Latin gospel and African sounds. Presenter-led programmes add artist interviews, faith stories, encouragement, Bible readings, entertainment features and discussion about issues affecting Christian listeners and the wider community.
Premier Gospel broadcasts on DAB+ across Greater London, with additional DAB availability listed for parts of Surrey and North East Hampshire. The schedule runs around the clock, moving from weekday breakfast and daytime programmes into specialist evening shows covering gospel house, reggae, Afrobeats and worship, with an extensive selection of Sunday programmes.
